Mike Ledford...A McHenry Crony?

Mike Ledford? Who, pray tell, is Mike Ledford? Judging by his campaign style, I'd say he's a close relativeof Patrick McHenry.

First, he doesn't pay the property taxes that fund the very job he's seeking. If that doesn't do enough to call into question his credibility, he holds a news conference, boldly proclaiming "lies, lies, lies" at a
sheriff who's served Catawba County with distinction and integrity for 24 years.

This malcontent Ledford looks and sounds a lot like another Patrick McHenry puppet whose idea of a political campaign is to cut up his opponent with his own lies, distortions and half-truths. Why can't he
say what he would do better for Catawba County than Huffman does? His is the same bullying, negative style McHenry used in 2004 and continues to use today.

Sheriff David Huffman is a nationally recognized authority on homeland security and has brought millions of law enforcement dollars to Catawba County through his role in the National Association of Counties task force. Further, the overall rate of violent crime has fallen by 15 percent over the last 10 years. Maybe that's why over 90 percent of the voters elected him last time.

Ledford, apparently, has aligned himself with the Republican Party's new little bully, McHenry--who has his cronies strong-arm and intimidate people thinking of running against him. Now, a Joanna Rowe of the congressman's staff, who's also working in Ledford's campaign, is sending out nasty letters against the sheriff--no doubt, as McHenry tries again to teach Huffman "a lesson," like he did Rudy Wright and the College Republicans.

I suggest the people of Catawba County not only ignore this clown Ledford and vote May 2 to keep the best sheriff they've ever had, but that they also find a way to get rid of McHenry, too.
